This functionality is currently very limited. There are still several options. These two should do the trick:
    1. after finishing with the extension of your Right bank, reverse your cross section stationing so that right bank becomes left and vice versa. Extend your new right bank (old left bank). At the end, reverse cross section stationing again (kind of a dumm approach but it works)
    2. prepare cross section “lines” outside of HecRas. Then you have the option to update elevation data from terrain on overbanks only

You could simply make gridded precipitation that covers only your area of interest (or make gridded precipitation over the whole area and assign value 0 over development boundary) and use that as your precipitation input (unsteady flow data > meteorological data >gridded precipitation).

Thanks Jarvus. I agree with you. Still, I think playing with Manning’s isn’t really a good solution to this problem. As for now, based on default plot tolerance set in Ras Mapper options (0.001m) I’d guess this is the default wetting and drying tolerance (which could be fine for rain on grid but not for traditional flood routing).

I’m gonna send this to HEC as a new feature request.
