This issue wasted my time a lot. This is how I get rid of that. Go to Mapper-> Geometry->cross section drop drown select Edge Line-> Right click- Start edit->again right click –> Compute Edge lines at XS limits

This worked for me. Just sharing if some one search for a solution for this issue ( even though the Becky has posted this in 2018)

    Hello,
I am having the same issue. Were you able to find a solution for that?

    Thanks

    Thanks for the reply Cameron..!
yes. I used 2D equation. I tried with Cd maximum, minimum and mid level coefficient.
Further I have introduced intermittent CS s whether slope is steep but yet my model crashes giving me high EG values in some of the CSs. So it is still unsolved.
I think still I am not familiar with the art of finding the errors in HEC-RAS 1D/2D models…!

    Thanks

Thanks Cameron. I really couldn’t find the issue. But what I did was remove all the lateral structures and re-applied it. then it worked.

    Thanks Cameron…!
I doubled the cross section length, then I could able to simulate it. But for the full momentum it become unstable in the halfway.

Thanks. Yes, Issue was the length differences

Thanks Scott for the reply. As you said issue was with the initial condition of the 2D area.

Thanks for the reply Scott. I have already tried changing the calculation options and tolerances. Yet it become unstable. Obviously that storage is under capacity. I have tried with less inflow, yet giving me trouble.
I tried removing the storage and installing a 2D area (in a different location). I made the 1D/2D connection using lateral structure, yet model become unstable.
The issue is I can simulate the 1D model (with extrapolating cross section warnings). But once I connect it with either a storage or a 2D area, it become unstable. Any advice?

    Hello Scott,
    Thanks for the reply.
My 1D trace and the storage area is like this. I’m simulating the model under unsteady flow condition.
In reality, the storage capacity is inadequate, hence it gives the extrapolation warning. Without the storage, model is running. it becomes unstable once I install the storage. I think the way I connect the inflow and out flow are incorrect.

Thanks for your reply Cameron. Well I have assigned a stage hydrograph at the outlet. Anyway, I reconstructed the model, then it worked.
