Which HDF file? Which table?

I struggled with this a lot.
I found that setting the projection makes a difference. I was not able to display any web maps until I set the projection to World_Mercator. Like this arc projection file:

I found that some of the web image sites do not seem to work (USGS Imagery and Google Maps in particular), but was able to get imagery from ArcGIS World Topo Map and ArcGIS World Imagery. It seems like RAS Mapper is a very rudimentary, unfinished program.
