I had the same issue. It turned out that the survey data was adjusted by a correction factor (eg: 1.006). Are you sure your survey data point do not have any issues?

When you convert from tin to raster using Arc conversion tool, there is a sampling distance (optional) in the conversion window. You can pick the sampling size there. My other guess for a low resolution of raster is that the tin itself has big intervals.
    Hope that helps..

That’s exactly what I did.. I have a good surface on the project I am working with but I will keep an eye on the resolution and will let you know if I find something new. Thanks for sharing

I did. The depths and WSE values were the same and I have a pretty good jump in the channel. However at the outlet of a bridge and near levees the cross sections look different than the mapper. Even the XYZ is different and I was wondering myself which one is more accurate. It matters when you’re checking flood plains for developments.
Do you have any structures or levees? I am going to put the levee as a lateral structure and see if it solves the problem. If you find an answer I really want to know… hope that helped a little though..

I figured it out. If anyone encounters the same problem, please let me know and I will be happy to walk you through it.
