Yes,I have tried to close and open the pumps in 1 minute or 2 minute ,but error still happened. May be that is because the scale of pump is too large for the river network , every pump is set 32 m3/s to make the max water surface meet demand. How can I decrease the error in such a pump flow?

Thank you so much for your suggestion. I am doing a pumping station optimization project in a river network, so water surface elevation needs to satisfy a certain accuracy. The errors in the picture is just a small part of errors in the simulation and the error grows as the pump station scale increases which can reach as much as several meters. In this example , the 8 pump stations are set to be instantaneous opening at the water surface elevation of 1.0 m and closing at 0.4 m. Since the errors happened in RS near pump station, the error may be induced by the instantaneous opening and closing of pump stations. I have tried to increase the number of iterations, decrease computation interval, turn on mixed flow regime, but that doesn’t help. Is there any other way to solve it? Looking forward for your reply, thank you.
