godzillaParticipant
I edited the xsecs and it is looking much better.
October 24, 2018 at 8:59 pm in reply to: How does HEC-RAS use unsteady flow hydrograph boundary conditions #11864godzillaParticipantThank you Chris G. I mistakingly thought the lateral inflows were for junctions. I’ll do it.
April 5, 2017 at 1:02 am in reply to: Edit Flow File or tweak geometry? File attached for your fun. #10481godzillaParticipantNever mind. I got it to run.
godzillaParticipantnever mind. I got it to run.
godzillaParticipantThe lateral structure/weir extended past the end of the reach. I edited the lateral from sta 1523 to sta 1200 and it worked. The reason it was too long is I opened it in 4.0.3 because that is what all previous files I had received had been created in. They didn’t tell me they switched to 5.0.3 and when I opened it in that version it wasn’t too long.
March 8, 2017 at 2:07 am in reply to: Internal Bridge XS Bank Station not in correct elevation #10444godzillaParticipantyea well i just figured this out. I have been toying with this for a bit now. in the bridge editor, the bank station was entered as 522.37 and in the column of stations and elevations it was 522.369 so I entered .369 and voila….
godzillaParticipantand neve mind more, opening in 5.0.3 fixed it.
godzillaParticipantnever mind. I see it.
March 3, 2017 at 3:24 am in reply to: Edited geometry file causes red lining in unsteady flow simulation #10435godzillaParticipantoh and it seems to me a flow file for a 25 year storm should work for variations of geometry. Should it?
godzillaParticipantah thanks again AJ.
godzillaParticipantThanks AJ. I saved the project under a new name and replaced my pond and it seems to work.
Another question. Is the depth vs volume entry an accumulated number or area per foot? i.e. el 6 = 10 ac ft, el 7 = 13, el 8 = 16 OR
el 6 = 10 ac ft, el 7 = 23, el 8 = 39.January 5, 2017 at 7:27 pm in reply to: Newbie of Sorts with ? about which files to load from existing model #10211godzillaParticipantHope your new year is going well.
I downloaded 4.1.0 and am able to run the 10 yr and 100 yr files. Working on 25 and 50. I open the plan files and it tells me what geometry and flow files were used. It seems if I pair these two I should be able to run an analysis.
Here is something that happens I would like to change. When I run an analysis, the files are now being saved in my c:\documents and not in the server folder where the loaded files are. Can I change this?
I had to place a copy of a .dss file in that location for one to run.
For my 25 year I get an incomplete with the note at several river stations “Undefined values found in the time series data. The boundary data must span the computation window.” I searched help and online but couldn’t find a good explanation. Any ideas?
I can use the same geometry file for all with different four scenarios can’t I?
Just ran the 50 yr successfully.November 30, 2016 at 6:07 pm in reply to: Newbie of Sorts with ? about which files to load from existing model #10210godzillaParticipantThank you for your reply. When I get back to that project I will check into those suggestions. This was supposed to be a completed model for a drainage study by another engineering company a few years ago. I don’t think they gave us the good files.
November 29, 2016 at 7:53 pm in reply to: Newbie of Sorts with ? about which files to load from existing model #10208godzillaParticipantI am running the 5.0.3 and the files I have been given are from 2011. This morning I read the plan file in notepad and found the geometry and flow files associated with it. I loaded those and a dss file. It’s running. Well it didn’t finish the computations. Here is some excerpts from the report. Can you tell me what this means?

–PROGRAM ABORTED–November 29, 2016 at 3:16 am in reply to: Newbie of Sorts with ? about which files to load from existing model #10207godzillaParticipantyea well now I get the DSS does not exist and it stops. I’ll research that tomorrow. It’s the end of the day.
