Chris G.KeymasterIt’s the same for Unsteady. Just make sure to use the unsteady flow profile (output interval) in the list of arguments.
Chris
Chris G.KeymasterNot sure what happened to my last post. Anyway, the geometry file is fully documented in “Breaking the HEC-RAS Code”. Let me know if you have any questions about it.
Chris G.KeymasterScott- My book, Breaking the HEC-RAS Code dissects the geometry and flow text files. It shows every key, plus what all of the arguments behind the keys mean. If you are trying to decipher the geometry text file, and want documentation on how to do it, you should get the book.
-Chris
Chris G.KeymasterNic- the function GetRiversReachesNodes is one I wrote myself. It is in the book on page 84.
Thanks for buying my book. Hope you are finding it useful!-Chris
Chris G.KeymasterIn HEC-RAS Version 5.0.6, it’s in the Calculation Options and Tolerances window, under the Advanced Time Step Control tab.
Chris G.KeymasterYes, all of the values are available, but to put them in the table, you have to specify which cross sections you want in your code. The example Monte Carlo problem only pulls out a few cross sections just to demonstrate the process.

January 11, 2019 at 5:00 am in reply to: Assign River and Reach names to new sections from RasMapper #11982Chris G.KeymasterTry using Edit…Change Name from the Geometry window. then click on the reach name on the schematic to change it. If there’s no name to begin with, see if there’s a little white spot where the name would go and click on that. Otherwise, can you change it in the river attributes table in RAS Mapper while in edit mode?
Chris G.KeymasterNo, they’re still working at HEC. And I just checked the website and it worked for me.
October 24, 2018 at 7:25 pm in reply to: How does HEC-RAS use unsteady flow hydrograph boundary conditions #11863Chris G.KeymasterThe upstream inflow hydrograph should represent the flow from the watershed that contributes to the location of the upstream boundary. For the watershed that contributes flow along the length of your reach, you can use lateral, or uniform lateral inflow hydrographs for boundaries. Just add the cross sections in the unsteady flow editor for where you want to include lateral inflow hydrographs.

Chris G.KeymasterThis may help a little, but if you right click on an image, you get an option to open the image in a new tab (at least this feature is available for Google Chrome). Then you’ll be able to see the entire image on one page. I know this isn’t the ultimate fix, but perhaps it makes things a little less annoying. Thanks again for your suggestion. I’ll keep exploring fixes…
