cameronParticipant
are you extracting using profile lines or did you actual make 2D connection lines at those locations? The profile lines will give you approximate flows across them where as the 2D connection lines will give you exact.
I agree that time slicing can be a pain and I usually turn it off or tweak the inputs carefully.
cameronParticipantyou would need to set that up in the unsteady flow editor and assign the gate the correct inputs.
cameronParticipantDo you have multiple 2D meshes on top of each other (perimeter 1, 2, and 3)? That does’t make sense.
As for the gate in front of a culvert, what is the purpose? They appear to have the same dimensions so if it is a gate, just do a gate.
cameronParticipantIt is only a graphical issue. What issue are you pointing out? The low chord values match.
cameronParticipantappears there is an issue with your downstream boundary condition called ds.
cameronParticipantWhat is your time step? Are you using the full momentum or diffusion wave solver?
cameronParticipantThe answer to this is yes.

cameronParticipantdoes it run in HEC-2?
August 6, 2018 at 6:11 am in reply to: Why only two velocities (‘Node X Vel’, ‘Node Y Vel’) are reported in HEC-RAS? #11606cameronParticipantHEC-RAS is a 2D model so does not account for the vertical. You would need a 3D model for up and down.
August 5, 2018 at 7:29 am in reply to: 1D/2D FLOW ERROR. BUT THE COMPUTATION MESSAGES IS STILL RUNNING #11603cameronParticipantOne thing that will make the iteration go away is if you switch to the 2D solver instead of the weir equation, but you need to be careful when doing that.
Does that weir coefficient make sense for you model? Check the manual that lists values to use.
You could also adjust the lengths of the lateral structures by breaking it up into more sections.

cameronParticipantDon’t think there is a need to turn of the terms and conditions at start up. We set up an image with HEC-RAS installed and security updates turned off. We then spin up thousands of machines and have it run HEC-RAS in the background using python.
cameronParticipant2D results are shown in the Mapper
