    Hello,

i am currently working with HEC-RAS 4.10 as part of my diploma. And i have a Question.

I´m importing Cross Section Data via CSV and i use the “Station-Elevation” system not the X-Y-Z one.
Many of the cross-sections have over 50 stations.

I want to add the X-Y Data > Geographicla Data > GIS TOOLS > XS Cut Lines Table

but there are only 50 rows for me to add coordinates. Can i somehow add some rows there?

Thanks for your time and help!

    Kind Regards

    Magnus

The only way I have found to have more than 50 points for the cut lines (and stream center line) is to use GeoRAS. You should not need 50 points for the cut lines though as usually a cross-section cut line is only a few points. You should be able to just take the coordinates where the cut line changes direction.

I also want to point out that the cross-section stationing does not need to match the cut line points as you describe in your post.

Keep in mind you do not have to have a an XYZ for each station elevation point for the cut lines table. If I am not getting the sections from GIS, I use a similar procedure as you. But since XS lines should have minimal changes in directions you can simply input the vertices for the actual lines. So you could have 90 station-elevation entries and if it was a straight section you could only have 2 entries in the cut lines table.
