Writing velocity at cell faces to HDF output!

When the option “Write Velocity data at the face node locations in 2D Meshes” is selected in HDF5 Write Parameters (in Output Options), is the velocity value that is written to the HDF output the instantaneous velocity, or the average velocity over the time since the last output? Hopefully this makes sense to someone. 🙂

instantaneous. It will provide the velocities at the time it writes the output. It is the same as what you would see in Mapper where you go through the mapping output interval.

The values that get listed are the Vx and Vy in the HDF file when you select this option.

Hi all,

I just started using Hec-Ras 6.1 and my hdf file seems to show values (e.g. velocity) for each output intervals rather than for each cell. Unfortunately this Hec-Ras version does not have the check box in the output control options anymore. Do you know how to change the settings to receive values for each cell within the hdf file?

I would be very grateful for your help.
