I’m trying to run a simulation of a river that contains two storage areas, but when i try to run the flow simulation, it comes up with the error:
‘HEC-RAS Error – Incomplete data, the following errors were found:
    Plan file: C:\soton\research project\hecras\hecras_files\RCOLE.p49
    Geometry file: C:\soton\research project\hecras\hecras_files\RCOLE.g11
    Flow file: C:\soton\research project\hecras\hecras_files\RCOLE.f01

River: “RIVER COLE” Reach: “REACH 1” RS:0.517 LS
    – Weir data is not in increasing order, stationing needs to maintain (vertical walls) or increase. At point(s): Sta: 1.716 < 1.696 pt#: 1-2 Sta: 1.696 < 1.69 pt#: 2-3 Sta:
    1.69 < 1.68 pt#: 3-4

At the station its referring to (0.517) is a storage area, but nothing about the storage area on the surface level seems to be out of the ordinary, the elevation doesn’t go any higher than the surrounding cross-sections of the river or anything. Has anyone else come across this issue?

    Thanks!

Hello William – The error refers to weir stationing. It may help if you look at a graphic of the weir. Lateral structure stationing is peculiar in that it is measured from upstream to downstream, whereas cross-section stationing is measured from downstream to upstream. In 1D, the upstream end of the lateral weir, 0+00, should be a distance measured downstream from a model cross-section. Check the stationing to make sure each station increases (or is the unchanged) in a downstream direction.
