Is there an easier way to view and export Computation Level Output time series that doesn’t involve going into “View… Unsteady Flow Time Series Plot…” and then tediously copying and pasting?

I want to tabulate time series output for a suite of variables at several cross sections in Excel, but since Computation Level Output does not get written to DSS, I’m trying to find a more efficient way to do this.

    Thanks for any insight.

    Yes there is.

In the plan editor you select Options>Output Options>”Computation Level Output Options”

    Hope this helps

output files can get extremely large by doing this method and selecting the time frame you care about it recommended.

Copying and pasting is going to be the most straight forward. But if you are really going to be doing this a lot and want to spend the time trying to automate it:

You might look into whether the RASController feature could export the results you want in a more convenient manner. I have not used this tool, so I don’t know for sure, but my general sense is it should be able to. This web site has a sub-forum dedicated to the topic.

You can set the mapping interval to the computation level output and all of the output is written to a HDF file. You can download your own free HDF viewer or write a program to extract the data. The viewer is pretty straight forward. Writing a program is probably going to be a big overhead.

Thank you jarvus, your response helps confirm what I thought. I’ve been meaning to dig in to the RAS Controller – this is a good opportunity to do so. 🙂
