Vertical screen upstream bridge

Hi all,

I have to simulate a reach of a flood channel with a bridge and upstream the bridge there is a fixed vertical screen. How can I simulate the vertical screen? I thought with an in-line structure with several gates.
Your comments and suggestions will be appreciated

One way I’ve done this before is to use lidded XS and code the lid to represent the bars.

Another option would be to add a minor loss to that cross section. Flow Editor->options->set changes in WS and EG..->K Loss. (There is a minor loss table in the geometric editor, but it doesn’t appear to work correctly).

There are several references out there for headloss coefficients based on screen size and porosity. (e.g. http://www.iihr.uiowa.edu/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/IIHR411.pdf)
