I tried to run my established project (been running fine) from 5.07 to 6.1; however I ran into the error shown below; Can any experts give me hints how to fix the problem, thanks.

His model runs fine on my computer, so we’re wondering if it is caused by a windows update or something like that, which hasn’t been applied on my machine yet.
Can you run other 2D models?
Have you tried sending the model to someone else to run on a different machine?February 3, 2022 at 6:41 pm #15372alister.hoodParticipantsystemInfo.txt is an empty file on my colleague’s machine, but doesn’t exist on mine. We don’t know whether it is just supposed to be part of some debugging process, or what.

February 4, 2022 at 1:32 pm #15383Hugh NParticipantThanks Alister for telling me that I am not alone, I had this setup model running fine on 5.07, when I transition to 6.1 I needed to re-do Manning layer in ras mapper in order to get it run first. I tried to run on 6.0 not only on 6.1, both have the same error as systeminfo not readable. Not sure its my machine or bug of the program. I will run an new model with complete setup on 6.1 to find out.

CUP - Alias not found
error we found that runningsysteminfo
in a command prompt also fails – something is clearly corrupted in Windows on his machine, but like I said we don’t know if that is what causes HEC-RAS to fail or if it is just interfering with debugging. To clarify, the model he is dealing with was also originally created in 5.07, but it was previously upgraded to either 6.0 or 6.1, and we can run it in 6.1 on other machines, so we believe the system is broken and there is no problem with the HEC-RAS model. I’ll get him to try to run a different model at some stage just to be sure.

More specifically I had installed and uninstalled Anaconda distro and, as result of these procedures, cmd.exe stopped working. After solving the aforementioned issue (https://stackoverflow.com/questions/66335300/cmd-crashes-with-exit-code-1-after-uninstalling-anaconda), by making cmd.exe to work, I was also able to run again Unstable Flow Analysis at HEC-RAS 6.3.
I suppose that HEC-RAS makes calls to cmd.exe for executing specific subprograms and this malfunction of cmd.exe did not let it operate as it should. -
