I have not been able to get RAS to recognized any manning’s n override regions. I tried creating the 2D Area Mannings n Region in the Geometry Editor and in Mapper. When working in the Geometry Editor, Mapper was closed and when working in Mapper the Geometry Editor was closed to make sure there were no issue with making the edits. I also tried the “Force Mesh Recomputation” and even regenerated the mesh but Mapper still shows the original Mannings n values both when right clicking on the cell face to bring up the property table and when selecting the “View Complete Manning’s n Table…” option under “Final n values” in the menu to the left in Mapper. For both of the above attempts, I also saved, closed and then reopened RAS. Also in both attempts, I re-computed the hydraulic property tables.

Has any one else had this problem with v5.0.4 and is there a solution?

I have had issues with 2D Area Mannings n Regions in 5.0.3 but forcing mesh recomputation and/or regenerating the mesh and recomputing the hydraulic property tables always worked in the past.

I seem to be having this issue also… Have you found a solution?

I am also having this issue. At the moment, I am re-importing the GIS polygon file and re-assigning n-values upon import. A bit cumbersome, but effective.

I’ve also experienced this issue, has this been identified as a bug or is this not the correct way of applying changes to manning’s n layer (I’m trying to use it to do sensitivity tests +-20% in all 2D areas)

HEC-RAS 5.0.5 is out and it looks like this has been fixed.

I tried to create a new post about the 5.0.5 release, but for whatever reason, it kept saying “submit failed”.

I’m running 5.0.5 and I’m still having this problem. My override regions were not recognized. Or to be more specific, the software recognizes the polygons but does not use the override values I assigned.

The Supplemental User’s Manual says that the Override Regions layer table is editable, but I have been unable to do this. It won’t let me edit the “Manning’s n” column, which is blank. Does anyone know how to do this?

Have you setup any Manning’s yet in Mapper?

This problem was fixed with the latest 5.0.6 release.
