I have produced results from the 2D model , but cant find a way to use the
result for calculating inundation area . Is there any way to export the
result in GIS or calculate the inundation area?

You can save the depth results as a grid by setting up the map parameters in Mapper. This can then be used to create an inundation map. The other option is to set up an inundation map result layer in Mapper. The link below tells you how to do it.

There’s an even easier way than exporting a depth GRID and processing in GIS: In Mapper, in the results of your simulation right click on one of the layers (e.g. Velocity) and select “Edit Map Parameters”. This brings up a dialog that lets you customize the displayed results for that layer and one of the options is Inundation Boundary. Select this option and the appropriate profile and then “Save Map”. You may need to recompute this new map result, so go to the Tools menu in Mapper, then Manage Map Results. Select your newly created inundation Boundary layer and click Compute/Update stored maps.

This creates an inundation area shapefile in the plan name in your model directory. Alternatively, you can right click that layer and export to a new shapefile to the directory of your choosing. Sounds like a lot of steps, but should take all of 30 seconds.

have you run into the issue with it not creating the shapefile? it won’t create the boundary for me. any thoughts?
