    Hi,

I am doing a comparison study of mike11 and hec ras. I already have the mike 11 data in which the gate operations values have control point value and target point values. How can i use those values as boundary condition in hec ras for inline structure.

Please, refer to the “User Defined Rules for Hydraulic Structures and
Pumps” chapter of HEC-RAS User’s Manual.
The boundary condition you need is called “Rules”. Create a variable
holding a cross-section WS Elevation (a control point) that you can use in
    a rule for a gate.

    Good luck!

    Radek

    Hi Dragan,

The new version of HEC-RAS can simulate 2D model as well. The working principle are basically the same. So, if you are using the same inputs, you will get similar results. It also depends on calibration of your model. Both the 1D and 2D model produced similar results.

    Good luck with your modeling
