time series outlet

Hi Everyone. Can someone please explain me time series outlet on an internal boundary condition in 2d flow? I filled the tab as it can be seen from below image but can not see any outlet of sort in the terrain profile :/

So what exactly is it used for. I know you can assign flow hydrograph after activating it but how does it work actually? If I put a culvert on the boundary will it shoot flow hydrograph through that culvert? Or does it work in another way?
