    Hello,

I am using HEC-RAS version 6.4.1 with the RAS Mapper. I have successfully imported the terrain data after correctly setting the UTM projection. Then, I added a “Google Satellite” layer under Map Layers. However, this map layer overshadows my terrain data, making the terrain data invisible when both the Google Satellite and Terrain layers are selected. I would like to have the terrain data appear in the foreground with the Google Satellite map in the background. Any tips would be highly appreciated. Thank you!

In RAS Mapper, in your table of contents, select your imagery and right click and at the bottom select “render beneath terrain (false)”

Hi Netra, another thing you can try is to make the Google Satellite layer transparent. That way you can see both the terrain and the satellite layer at the same time. In RAS Mapper, right click the Google Satellite layer and click “Properties”. Then, on the Visualization and Information tab, slide the Opacity scale to whatever transparency you would like the layer to be.
