first of all I like to inform you about Q-RAS, a plug-in of QGIS that permit you easily to create a HEC-RAS .geo file; it is only requested a DEM.

I’ve used this plug-in and it works well, but I found that in the geometry editor of HEC-RAS, next to the name of every XS, there is written also this:

“r=1.02” or something like this (the number can change).

I underline that it is not part of the name of the XS; anyone knows something about this?
