Storage area at the end of the channel

Hi guys!
Faced a problem and I just can’t figure out how to solve it.
I simulate a channel flowing into a reservoir, created cross-sections and a reservoir bowl, but I cannot logically link them to simulate an unstable flow. The canal modeling is going well, but nothing happens in the reservoir.
My task is to determine how the water level in the reservoir affects the water level in the canal.

Please help solve the problem!

You need to drag the end of the reach graphically into the SA and then it’ll ask if you want to connect the two. FYI if you have flow assigned to the top xs of a 1D reach and you connect that to a SA at the upper end it won’t warn you that it is not using that flow…just a heads up on that.
