I made a new model drawn entirely in RAS Mapper on top of a USGS one-meter LIDAR DEM. When it validated and I clicked Compute, it put up errors like this:
River: “Walker Creek” Reach: “Reach 1” RS:3117
– Station data contains a wall with zero width, the elevation goes up and then down (or down then up) without moving over.
Please remove the wall (take out the middle point) or add some width to the wall.
At point(s):383
The station numbers in feet along that cross section max out in the 200 range, so I couldn’t figure out why they were pointing to “383”. Searched here and all over the web and found no clues.
Turns out the “point” they list is not the station number in feet that they show on most map views and graphs. In the Geometric Data Editor -> (left buttons) Cross Sections -> Cross Section Coordinates table, it is the row number! Which has no relation to the station distance.
And indeed, the rows above and below that row number had the same cross section station position in feet, but the elevation for the middle row was 0.01′ higher. Or lower.
Just highlight the duplicates and “Del Row”. Trivial once you know that!
