    Hello Everybody,

I am tryng to simulate a dam whith 5 gates:
3 radial gates in the main surface spillway (left side of the crest), 1 radial gate in the right side of the crest, and 1 gate in the bottom. The lake is modeled as level pool, connected to a 2D flow area. The 2D flow area is connected to a 1D river reach.

I want to simulate the artificial flow wave consecuent to a fast opening of all the gates (1 m/minute)

The simulation is always stable during the simulation time (no errors, no level or flow instabilities) and everyting seems to work nice, until the lake volume decreases and the total discharge approximates to the lake inflow discharge (9.3 m3/s). At this point 2 radial gates of the surface spillway start to show negative flows as well as the bottom gate.

    More informations:
    – All the gates are modeled using the hec ras hydraulic equations (no user defined curves)
    – I am using a constant lateral inflow hydrograph in the lake (9.3 m3/s)

The stage HW is always higher of the stage TW of the 2D connection structure (dam) so negative flows in the gates are not physically possible.
Maybe ther is an issue in the volume balance between the 1d reach and 2d flow area.

I would appreciate if somebody can help me..
Down here some screenshot to explain.

Got a couple questions. Could i see the output errors please

Where is the actual instability occurring?
