    Hello HEC-RAS modelers,

first let me introduce myself: my Name is Thomas and i am from Austria. Since 2 weeks I try to work with HEC-RAS 5.0.3. following the users-manual.

As I said, I am from Austria, I use the SI-Unit as default in my projekts.
    The problems:

    1. trying to open the geometric Schema from the Geom. Editor, it shows: “error plotting geom. schem.”
    2. Setting the station and elevation of CS in the CS-window as follows:
for example 12,01(m) for station and 645,55(m) for elevation. Then select Add Data button. Everthing´s fine.
After computing the project the “Komma”-Settings in the CS were roundet up or down. To 12 and 646. No more “Kommas” are shown.
    3. The same problem with downstream boundary. As known WS i set 650,23(m). HEC-RAS is computing with 65020(m). Also the “known WS-window” Shows 65020(m).
    4. bank station in the CS: sometimes it says: “Station not found” or the stations are rounded like above
    5. Manning´s values are different or gone after computing

I hope anyone of you can help!

    Thanx
    Thomas

I do not believe that HEC-RAS likes commas and you will need to switch to using decimals 12.01 or 645.55

You´r right, HEC-RAS doesn´t like the kommas (,). I used the dezimal (point).
Could not solve the problem so i will uninstall the current HEC-RAS software from my comp. and download it again.

Thomas, you have to define dot as decimal separator in window setting
