RAS is designed to produce minimal output to keep the files small. To make the sediment transport output available for the graphic displays and tabulation the output variables need to be selected (under Sediment Transport Analysis – Options- Sediment Output Options choose a level 4 or higher output level.) Execute the simulation. Then, from the main RAS window, choose Options>View>Sediment Time Series Plot. This leads you to a menu of what output is available and where. Under “variables” you will find a list of items available for plotting or tabulating. From these you can determine the transport capacity and rate at each cross section. For higher output levels this info. will be output by grain size fraction. Which grain sizes are being moved as bed load changes with cross section and time. Also, some transport functions calculate bed material load, some calculate total load. The RAS 4.1 sample data file called “Mobile Bed Example” might be useful to look at.
