I have a SA 2D Connection with a rating curve (WS Elev – Flow). The 2D area (upstream) cells are approximately 19m in elevation (highest being 19.06m). The lowest elevation on my rating curve is 19.1m. No matter how high I set the minimum elevation of my rating curve, I get the error “SA 2D Connection has a rating curve with a starting flow elevation lower than the cell it is connected to: cell 1035 cell elev 19.02”.

All of the values on my rating curve are higher than 19.02m, is this a bug? Am I missing something else? I am out of ideas here and really looking for some help.

Here is a screenshot of the error and the associated SA 2D Connection rating curve: https://i.imgur.com/fLcQJH9.jpg

EDIT: I still can’t get it to work, even with only two SA-2D connections, both with weirs, one of them also with a Rating Curve.

I seem to have found the reason! It’s not great news. I reviewed the list of known HEC-RAS 5.0.5 issues, and first on the list is:

“If three or more boundary condition rating curves are connected to a 2D flow area, there is a computational problem and the program does not run.”

This model had two SA-2D connections to the flow area and was running fine, and this is the third SA-2D connection which I am trying to add, so seems like there is no way to make it work. I will leave this post here for future reference in case others encounter the same error.
