reverse stationing

I have some cross sections imported from civil ,whose coordinates are entered right to left looking in the downstream direction (as shown by the xs direction arrows in HEC RAS) and as it should really be corresponding to the reality .Is it mandatory to flip them?

it’s very easy to flip them under the “GIS tools” menu

i know,but do i have to do this ,since the arrows define that i am using the right to left direction?
