I need to rectify my back picture in geometry window. In Hecras user manual has be mentioned that : The user has the option of rectifying the picture by entering coordinates for the left, right, top and bottom side of the picture.(p.6-10)
Unfortunately I can not find how to assign coordinates for my picture. Any idea?
The properties input boxes where you enter this information is greyed out (disabled). Not sure why. Waiting to hear back form HEC on this one. In the meantime, you might explore editing (or creating) the world file for you image. Perhaps that will get you where you need to be in the meantime. Wikipedia actually has a decent writeup on worldfiles. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_file
Chris.
I tried to rebuild the Muncie example( provided with Hecras 5). I imported the geometry data( which has been georeferenced) from Muncie example in to my model and used Muncie.Jpg file, provided with Hecras 5, as a background picture. It works perfectly and the geometry and the background picture have the same coordinates and fit.
I tried to do the same thing with my data.
I first used my image without rectifying. Obviously It did not fit to my georeferenced geometry data.
Because Hecras does not rectify the image by itself I tried to use georeferancing toolbar in Arc map to rectify my picture but Arcmap just lets me saving it as Tiff format. I can just open this TIFF file with Arcmap and Hecras does not let me use it as the background picture.
I will try to create a world file as you suggested but do you know how I can prepare the background image by using Arcmap?
Thanks.
Mike.
