RAS 4.1 and 5.0.1 – Slow computations in Win10

Hello.

I am working with a steady state model of bridge crossing hydraulics. I have a multiple opening representing a box culvert and a bridge opening.

I had been running Windows 7 64 bit professional previously. I installed windows 10 64 bit professional today. It was an upgrade-type install (not a clean install). I noticed the RAS model computes much more slowly than previously, in both 4.1 and 5.0.1, probably 1-2 minutes, as opposed to 10 seconds or so with Windows 7.

Has anyone seen anything similar?

Fixed it. It wasn’t a HEC-RAS problem at all: slow network traffic today. I was working on a file from a remote office server. When I copied the RAS model to my local (C Drive) I ran the model in 2.5 seconds. For some reason, the network traffic is slow today.
