Has anyone experienced RAS 2D modeling where it spins its wheels with the max 20 (by default) iteration count, which is not unusual, but where these warning messages are at cells which are not even wet but clearly dry? We have a model where three different cells are doing this (at different times and locations). It’s maxing out iterations and reporting water surface elevations that would be about 12 to 15 ft deep at a cell location that is clearly dry (and multiple cells removed from the wetted area). The run time messages persist long enough within the simulation that one should see this result when plotting a stage hydrograph at these cells in Mapper, but the plots (correctly) do show the cells remaining dry at the ground elevation. For now, I’m ignoring these warning messages, but they are bothersome and probably slow down the run. Also concerned something weird might be going on. This is happening in both versions 5.0.7 and 6.0. Thank you!

Figured it out. Our model is actually hybrid 1D/2D, and these messages actually were for 1D CROSS SECTIONS (not 2D cells). Doh! Our 1D cross section River Station IDs represent cumulative feet which gives them a name that looks like a cell number. And our reach and river naming was such that it appeared the message applied to a 2D cell. So, the problem posed in the post wasn’t actually an issue at all, just took a closer look to see it.
