Hi everyone, I am looking for publicly available and relatively simple 2D HEC-RAS models for use in research as benchmark floodplain mapping models. I am considering undertaking a study similar to this one (https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/S0022169417308016) and wonder if there are any 2D models that exist publicly for such a purpose, or if this would need to be built from scratch (perhaps from an available 1D model as a basis).
Robert, when you download the HEC-RAS software you have the option to also download example models and data sets. You also can just download the data sets in the location below.
Thank you for that response. I notice that there is one model consistent between the 2D examples and 1D unsteady examples (Balde Eagle Creek), though it is not clear if the 1D and 2D models of the same name are suitable to compare results for this type of benchmarking without modification.
Can you clarify that point, or point to any additional documentation that accompanies these examples?
