I’d like to run an old v4.0 unsteady, 1D RAS model in v5.0.4, but I haven’t been able to get the preprocessor to run successfully. It seems to be hung up on culverts. I’ve played with pilot channels, upstream and downstream XS geometry, ineffective areas, HTab parameters, and even deleted many of the problematic culverts altogether, but the preprocessor just hangs up on another culvert. I remember having this issue when attempting to update to v4.1 several years ago too. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

    Here is the error message:

FYI… I was able to resolve this issue by modifying the upstream and downstream cross sections associated with each of the “problem culverts”. Each of these cross sections included a horizontal segment at each end. I realized these segments were the offenders because the IB calculations was crashing at the the top of each problem cross section. By adding 0.01 ft elevation to the first and last point of each cross section and eliminating the horizontal segments, the preprocessor was able to complete without issue.
