details? Eg. Cell Size, time step, simulation time, diffusion wave or full=

September 15, 2015 at 6:09 pm #9486AnonymousGuesthow to import .2dm file in Hec ras 5
September 15, 2015 at 7:29 pm #9487cameronParticipantYou can’t import a 2dm file into HEC-RAS 5.0 that I am aware of. Most 2dm files are triangular meshes and HEC-RAS does something different when meshing. Also one of the advantages of HEC-RAS 5.0 is you don’t need as small as elements as other 2D models.
June 8, 2018 at 1:38 am #9488RunoffParticipantCameron is right, .2dm files typically contain triangular or quadrilateral elements, however, using the SMS software developed by Aquaveo, you can convert .2dm files to the RAS geometry format and load that into RAS 5.0. It works well and does preserve the triangular or quadrilateral cell configuration, you just have to be careful not to make any changes to the “2D flow areas” options after importing it into RAS, as RAS will regenerate the mesh and build a different configuration of cell edges.
