I’m currently modeling a river with proposed gated regulator. I need to find the filling and emptying time and operation of gates to optimize the flow from storage area due to this regulated gates. the gates are completely closed. Every time i run model, the u/s of regulator seems to be completely filled initially and overflow the gated regulator although the initial flow and inflow to the storage area is very low 0.05m3/s. the gate height is 3m*3m. I suppose this storage area should be filled slowly and slowly and finally overtoped the gate. how can i simulate this condition.
