Normal Depth as a time series

I have an area where the river outlet goes out to the ocean at a harbor area, and the city have had problems with flooding due to tide and heavy rain combined.
Is is possible to set the normal depth as a time series, to recreate the tide, or do i have to make multiple scenarios with different normal depths?

Consider a “stage” ds boundary condition. Or to simulate high tide to low tide events, consider connecting the outlet to a storage area with a weir structure that breaches fully once high tide recedes
