    Hello all,

I’m getting an error message in my 1D model that has been mentioned here before, but no solutions were found.

    The error message is:
    NEGATIVE AREA IN SUBROUTINE CONVEY
    BETWEEN STATION 7.88 AND 9.00
    Crystal Creek Lower 1730
THIS IS USUALLY CAUSED BY BAD STATION/ELEVATION DATA
IF THIS NODE HAS A WEIR (BRIDGE etc.) CHECK THE ROAD DECK DATA CAREFULLY
    –PROGRAM ABORTED–
    NEGATIVE AREA IN SUBROUTINE CONVEY

From my debugging attempts, I know that:
    – Station 7.88 is the location the the bridge low chord crosses the US cross section an the left side of the bridge opening (and changes in the error message if the bridge data is edited)
    – Station 9 is the left US bank station (and changes in the error message when changed in the upstream XS)
    – This same geometry used in a steady state model runs without issue
    – I’ve tried changing bridge computation routine, HTab parameters, bank stations, and many different edits to the deck/roadway data
    – When I delete this bridge entirely, the same error is reported for the next bridge upstream in the model.

Does anyone have suggestions for where this error might be coming from?

I have gotten this a couple times and its SO annoying and I still don’t know the actual cause. You can try deleting the .hdf geo file and try re running. The only other option I completed was continue deleting bridges until the error no longer exists then re adding them one by one and re running after each
