Hello all, I have created a 2D HEC-RAS model with 1D culverts as 2D connections for floodplain purposes. One aspect has me stuck — I am trying to create a stormdrain with 3 different culverts connected to it. I’ve attached an image. The circled junction is the stormdrain.

I figured I could model the stormdrain as a storage area and connect the culverts somehow, but I’m not sure how to go about this. Alternatively, I believe I could possibly add flow hydrographs instead of modeling the culverts at all.

How would you approach this situation?

    Thank you for your help

If you know the flow hydrograph you can draw a boundary condition line inside of the 2D area.

    That sounds easiest.

If you want multiple culverts coming out of a storage area you can try doing them as 1D reaches using cross sections with lids. It works in theory but can be tricky in practice because of stability issues.
