    Hello,

I have a junction with a pretty severe angle of confluence between the watercourses. However, velocities are relatively slow and backwaters are deep, creating a bath tub like condition across the entire site. Wondering if I should be using an energy or momentum steady flow computation mode? If momentum, is there a rule of thumb on selecting “Add Friction” or “Add Weight” to compute losses over the junction? Should you select both?

    Thank you!

For low velocities, I would recommend the energy method. The momentum method works best for high velocity, concrete channels.
