    Hi,

I am running a 2D model and I am little confused with the results.

I am varying the value of the Manning’s number to see the effects in the results (the default value). As I have increased the manning number, the extension and the depth of my inundation have increased, is this a correct hydrological behaviour?

As increase the value of manning, the water should have higher friction to flow and therefore the extension of the inundation should decrease.

Someone could explain why this can happen?

Manning ‘s number is the unique value I changed in the model.

    Thank you,

    Sara

    Hi Sara

increasing the roughness will increase the depth as it slows down the velocity and it will also likely increase the inundation. The results are as expected.
