Questions about how HEC-RAS calculates lidded cross sections. Say you have 5 sections, and a structure between sections 2 and 4 that you want to model with lids.
Do you include lids in sections 2, 3, and 4? Or just 2 and 3, assuming it calculates energies as if the deck spans the length between the section where you “draw” it and the next section (where you don’t)?
If the lid spans from section 2 to 4, than sections 2, 3, and 4 should all have the lid. It would probably be best if section 1 was only a short distance from section 2 and section 5 was only a short distance from section 4.
