Hello, I’m trying to apply level pool routing as described in the link http://hecrasmodel.blogspot.com/2010/08/how-to-use-storage-area-to-define.html

My geometry consists of an upstream storage area connected to a stream with an ungated weir inline structure.
I added a boundary condition of type ” Lateral inflow Hydrograph” for the storage area and set an initial elevation in the initial conditions tab.
For the stream I used a “normal depth” condition at its downstream, and added an “Internal RS Initial Stages ” condition and set it the the reservoir initial elevation for the two dummy cross sections upstream of the inline structure.

When I run the unsteady flow analysis this error occurs:

ERROR with Initial Flow for Reach
The program cannot figure out an Initial Flow condition for River 1 because the upstream end of this reach is directly connected to a storage area.
Please enter an Initial Conditions Flow for this reach in the Unsteady Flow Data editor

I can’t figure out the reason of this error and if I manually enter an initial stream flow in the initial conditions tab the analysis become unstable at time 0

I would appreciate your help, Thank you
