Lateral Weir Structures upstream of bridges or culverts

Are there constraints in HEC-RAS that recommend or prevent users from locating lateral weir structures upstream of bridge or culvert structures? It is not noted that lateral weir structure should not be located upstream of bridges or culverts in the HEC-RAS reference manuals that I could find.

Please advise if this has been done routinely and whether or not there are limitations as such. Thank you.

It’s no problem. However, you must have at least one cross section between the bridge and any part of the lateral structure.
