I have a few areas where flow is leaving my basin at and around bridges on a RAS 4.1 model. To model this, RAS will allow me to create a lateral structure that crosses the bridges, but I’m concerned it may not be appropriate to cross a structure with a lateral structure. Has anyone else had this problem? Is it appropriate to cross a structure with a lateral structure, or should the lateral structure be broken in two (one upstream of the bridge and one downstream)?

It is not appropriate to extend a lateral structure passed a bridge crossing. The lateral structure should be broken up into two, one for upstream and one for downstream.
