    Hello!

I am modeling a narrow concrete channel through a residential neighborhood. It is a steady flow model. A significant amount of water spills over the right overbank, which continues to slope downward indefinitely. To account for this, I added a lateral structure and turned on flow optimization.

To determine peak flows, I am using modified Puls routing in HMS. I run a series of flows through my RAS model for the storage-outflow relationship, but the problem is that the optimized flows cause this relationship to be innaccurate (ie. smaller flow than the original input, but same storage.) Should I replace the flows in the storage-outflow with the original input flows before using it in HMS? Should I make a rating curve and add a diversion in HMS?

    Thanks.
