    Hello,

I have a stream with contaminant inflow currently from several places along the river. My goal is to study if it is better to discharge the contaminants from one or several locations in order to achieve maximum mixing of contaminants into the river. Discharge happens with small streams from wetlands to the river. Is it better to add the discharge streams as dummy reaches or as lateral inflow structures?

What benefits would there be of using a “dummy” reach? Sounds like extra work if you have the data you need to use lateral inflows.

There is no geometrical data of the discharge streams, only the locations and flows

Hi again, could someone please help me by telling which lateral inflow structure would be easiest to use if there is no geometrical data of the inflows? Or is dummy reach a better solution?

Is the geometry of your system such that lateral inflows specified in the flow editor are insufficient?

No not really. They are just small natural streams flowing to a natural river without any special structures.
