    Hello,

I am working on designing an outflow channel for a lake. The current outflow is a pipe that cuts through an old railroad berm. The idea is to cut through the railroad berm and create a high/low channel to replace the pipe. I am not sure how to properly model this situation.

I have set up a reach from the end of the lake through the proposed and graded channel.

My major concern is that the current outflow pipe is restricting flow to a certain volume. But not once a channel is implemented, much more flow will be able to pass through potentially overtopping down stream structures. The key of the design is to properly set inverts of channel.
