Junction

I’m a little new to HEC-RAS and I’m modeling a river system that splits into 2 other rivers. I understand that a junction needs to be created to connect the reaches. The split will occur at a right angle. Reach 1 of River 1 goes north to south as well as Reach 2 of River 1 and Reach 1 of River 2 goes east to west. What do I use for junction lengths? Any thoughts are appreciated.

Hi Orlando-

The junction lengths are measured from the cross section upstream of the junction, along the stream centerline, to the cross section below the junction. Read these posts and the RAS manuals for more information:
