    Hello all,

I am trying to model a series of culverts within 2D domain, but I have unrealistic results (the drops in water surface at the culvert it too much (~2m) while the energy losses is normal (~0.6m).
Also, I tried to model the same culverts in 1D, but unfortunately I got the same results.

how different is the discharge upstream and downstream of the culverts? what does the hydrograph through culverts look like? Have you tested the culvert’s in another program to compare if they are working correctly?

    Thanks Cameron,

of course, i tested the culverts in EPA SWMM, SSA, Culvertmaster.
the culverts are working correctly in SSA, and EPA SWmm, but it gives the same water profile in culvertmaster like Hec RAS.

After many trials, we conclude that the problem in HEC RASwhen you have culverts generate high heading up, the flow in the culvert flowing the orifice equations which generate high difference between US and DS
