Inline structure

As a basic user, I am trying to model a weir with the walkway over it. could you advise me on the best way that I can do it?
I designed the wier as an inline structure, for the walkway, can a lidded cross section be an option?

An inline structure can not have a lidded cross section.

There is a space between the weir and the walkway that the flow can go through? Maybe a gate opening would work.

Yes, there is a space between invert elevation of the spillway and the walkway. Actually my purpose is to confirm the sufficient clearance of the walkway over the spillway to pass storm events.
you mean the open gate plays the role of the walkway over the weir?
