Hello everybody,
My project consists in modelling the flow pattern from a concrete DAM, under the 1000 yr inflow hydrograph (around 3600 mc/s)
The volume and size of the reservoir as well as the inflow hydrograph parameters suggest a level-pool approach is good enough to represent the reservoir.
So I draw a 2D flow area downstream the DAM and a storage area upstream the DAM; I have connected the 2D flow area to the downstream side of the hydraulic structure representing the DAM, and a storage area to the upstream side of the hydraulic structure.
At this point I need to define the boundary conditions for the storage area.
My question is: can I specify the boundary condition for the storage area directly as inflow hydrograph? If yes, do I need to add another geometric element?
I have read in the 2D user manual that the user can specify a SA/2D area BC lines for 2D flow area, but nothing is said about storage area.
My idea is to add a SA/2D area BC lines to the storage area and then to assign the inflow hydrograph as boundary condition in the BC line.
It would be great if anyone can suggest me the right solution.
Best regards
